Claykiln fired.
Fired clay is earth transformed by fire. Its range of reds, pinks and ochres, and the mark of each handmade piece, give the home a warmth that is hard to imitate.
We lay it as floor tiles in living rooms, kitchens and on terraces, as wall tiles in showers and splashbacks, and we preserve it in vaults and thin brick ceilings when they are part of the building's history. Well sealed, it stands up to everyday use and grows more beautiful with time.
Floors, walls and vaults
Clayindoors and out.
Clay works just as well in a living room as on a terrace. Indoors it brings warmth to living room and kitchen floors; outdoors it stands up to the sun and ages with a beautiful patina.
We also use it on walls: handmade clay tiles for shower walls and splashbacks, with niches and brass fittings that bring out its colour.
Every piece,unique.
Every clay tile has small variations in tone and shape, so no two floors are ever alike. It is a natural material that brings warmth and sits beautifully with lime, wood and natural fibres.
The laying pattern completely changes the character of a room: herringbone and basketweave add movement, while straight rows make the space look longer.
The passingof time.
Clay is porous, so we seal it after laying to protect it from stains and damp. To clean it, water and a neutral soap are all you need, with no acidic products.
With use it gains a patina that is part of its beauty. Depending on wear, the treatment can be renewed over the years to keep it protected.
